The owner of a private cottage contacted us with a problem that is common for us but serious for him — water penetration into the basement. The basement had already been nicely renovated, but it began to deteriorate due to constant moisture.
On the exterior walls in contact with the soil, the following was observed:
The situation required immediate intervention, as the premises were not only losing their habitable appearance but also becoming hazardous to health.
Solution
After inspecting the site, we found that the basement walls were made of foundation blocks. This prevents capillary rise of moisture. Since in this case we had access to the foundation from the outside and the Client agreed to this, we proposed an external basement waterproofing technology.
This is the most effective method, creating a protective barrier that completely eliminates wall contact with moist soil. It allows the problem to be effectively solved and ensures a dry basement. This technology was successfully implemented.
